2017 Malaysian SMEs Brand Survey Report – Malaysian SMEs Branding & Marketing Practices

The Malaysian SME Online Survey 2017 is part of BIZSPHERE knowledge sharing initiative to drive Malaysian SMEs brand and business to the next level.  The survey was conducted from 25 October 2017 to 22 November 2017.

The survey was distributed mainly through emails to over 10,000 business communities with the support from MATRADE, SAME, Maybank and AVIS as our SME Survey Partners.

There were over 262 respondents with 84% of them are SMEs ; 82% of them are responsible for branding and marketing and 78% of them are in management positions and above.

The survey  is mainly focusing on SMEs branding and promotion initiatives and its challenges in view of the borderless digital economy.

Key findings include :

  • Brand Investment is SMEs greatest concern & challenge
  • SMEs are placing greater focus on digital communications
  • Many SMEs yet to benefit from support programmes offered
  • SMEs are hopeful to get more funding, programmes & people to grow their brands
